Cat Donut Injection Molded Toy // Computer Integrated Manufacturing
[HAAS CNC Mill / Siemens NX CAM]

I went through the process of creating an injection molded part: modeling the part, creating a manufacturing program and determining tooling to produce a mold for that part, manufacturing the molds, and then using the molds to create the injection molded part.

See Cat Donut Toy Project for more details.

NASA Summer Research Program // Aluminum Part Manufacturing
[Manual & CNC Mill / SolidWorks]

In the NASA Summer Research Program, I redesigned parts for different machines in SolidWorks and then manufactured them using a manual mill, a CNC mill, and aluminum.

GE Aviation // Base Grate Manufacturing
[Waterjet / SolidWorks]

In my Mechanical Engineering Capstone, working with GE Aviation, my team and I designed and manufactured an improved, tiered base grate system for their armature impregnation process.

We modeled the parts in SolidWorks, and then I utilized a water jet and a sheet metal bender to cut out the stainless steel parts and bend them to their final shape.

See GE Aviation Project for more details.

The Passing Pal // Lathe & Manual Mill

To connect a motor to each wheel, I machined two aluminum connectors on a lathe and then drilled and tapped two holes in each connector on a manual mill.

I attached one connector to each motor by creating a flat on the motor shaft and then utilizing two set screws to secure it down, finishing by press-fitting a wheel onto each motor + connector.
